My mother and father divorced when I was 19, and my mother remarried. I like my stepfather and my father, and I think they are all very happy now. My mother and stepfather live in Buxton, in the north of England, and my father lives in Whitby, in the north-east. My sister moved to Whitby to be near my father. She is eight years younger than me, and she works at a bank. She is a good artist and she likes painting in her free time. I also have an older brother, who lives in Sunderland, which is about thirty miles north of Whitby. He works for a mobile phone company.
Three of my grandparents died in 1985, from diseases caused by smoking. (Don't smoke!) My other grandmother lived with us until she died in 1997, at the age of 94! She had a long and happy life. I'm happy that I was able to know her well. She told me many interesting stories about life in the past.
